Name:Eddie Goodwin
E-mail:transgenic_girl@hotmail.com
Bio:

Eddie Goodwin
Standing in the rain, with his head hung low
Couldn't get a ticket, it was a sold out show
Heard the roar of the crowd, he could picture the scene
Full Name: Edmund George Goodwin Jr.
Age: 28
DOB: January 18th, 1981
Hometown: Bethesda, Maryland
Physical Description

Put his ear to the wall, then like a distant scream
He heard one guitar, just blew him away
He saw stars in his eyes, and the very next day
If there is one thing that Eddie isn’t, it’s someone who is able to fade into any kind of background. Tall, dark, and most decidedly handsome, this grinning, guitar strumming rebel without a clause (going for broke with the tried and true clichés here), always stands out in a crowd. Whether he’s trying to, or not. Never quite casual in his wear, except on those happy occasions where he’s deliciously naked, Eddie sticks to button up shirts and decent pants.

Maybe he should be intimidating, at 6’3” and 228 lbs, with that body of an Olympic athlete, but somehow, he just isn’t. Maybe it’s the ease he carries with him, or the charm that’s more than simply personality. He’s got plenty of bright white smiles that stretch nearly across his whole face, which when mixed in with a voice that might just add a shiver to your spine, when properly applied, is quite the hard hitting package.

The tattoos on the insides of his wrists are relatively new, under a year old, with an ankh inscribed on the skin of the inside of his right wrist, and the symbol of an Om on the other.

Throw in some calloused-tipped, but long and talented, fingers (for guitar, you perv), and Eddie definitely has an impact on the women, and some men, around him.
Personality
Bought a beat up six string, in a secondhand store
Didn't know how to play it, but he knew for sure
That one guitar, felt good in his hands, didn't take long, to understand
Eddie is far less tightly strung than the others of the distinguished Goodwin family, an outlier, but he thinks it's better that way. Enjoying his individuality, and free will, he's never been good at following the demands of others, he was just good at hiding for awhile. Given that he's given up on even pretending to buckle under authority, he's outright insubordinate now. With half the chance, he'll do exactly the opposite as he's told.

There's an easiness about him, what he'd define as 'take life as it comes,' but it more clearly defined as 'things happen, I really can't help it.' It's become a little bit of ambivalence, maybe more than a little, really. Best he figures it, if he freaked out over every little (or big) thing, he'd just be a mess all the time. Really, it's probably much better than becoming a nihilist and quoting Frederich Nietzsche like a pompous, emotastic jerk.

Friends, he makes easily, being charming and relaxed as he is, but it comes with a price. Although he makes quick friendships with little effort, they're rarely anything permanent. Eddie's childhood and adolescence have prepared him for the idea that connections are easy to make, but are just as easily broken, whether it's by him, the other person, or circumstances out of his control.

When stressed, Eddie feels the need to get in a boxing ring, or in a pool, working off his stress with physical activity, or picks up his guitar to strum out a song, it just depends on the setting. In public, it's physical release (I know how your mind thinks, go get out of the gutter), in private (unless we're talking about at a gig), it's music. On stage he's in the zone, never shy, but not exactly demanding the spotlight the entire time either, just...comfortable and in his element.

History
And be a juke box hero, got stars in his eyes, he's a juke box hero
He took one guitar, juke box hero, stars in his eyes
Juke box hero, (stars in his eyes) He'll come alive tonight
History actually bores the life out of Eddie, which is a shame, as he's got so much of it behind him. Or, perhaps, it's because he's got so much of it behind him.

It began in March, 1944, with the commission of his grandfather Reginald E. Goodwin as an ensign, one of the first African Americans to be a US Naval Officer, and as such labeled one of the 'Golden Thirteen.' And, fact was, as after an illustrious military career, despite racial segregation in the rest of the country at the beginning and middle of it, Reginald was sure to encourage his two sons to follow in his footsteps. Reginald M. Goodwin did well for himself, as the oldest son, but Edmund A. Goodwin did even better, eventually becoming an Admiral of the 'World's Greatest Navy.'

Things weren't always easy, as the son of a dedicated Naval officer, especially given the highly transitory nature of being a member of a family led by an ambitious military member. He's been to so many schools that it's a wonder that his grades didn't suffer more than they did, especially given his problem with dyslexia. Then again, Edmund Sr. would never have stood for such lackadaisical behavior, and made sure his younger son was given enough time with tutors, and kept under a firm enough discipline, that he soon triumphed over the potential failing. Succeed or die, what a credo.

On the move so much, Eddie should have ended up isolated and perhaps even socially stunted, with often multiple changes in a single grade of school. But, instead he flourished in the rootless existence, and while the guitar he was given, by his maternal grandparents when he was 13, was his only constant companion besides his older (and more distinguished) brother, he learned to make friends quickly, and let them go just as quickly. Despite his often overbearing father's pushing, he never quite had the drive to follow in his grandfather, father or brother's footsteps in going into the Navy.

He actually got as far as the Annapolis Naval Academy, before he finally just had just about enough of that, and in his third year, went to the office of Annapolis's Commandant, and told him "Yeah, I'm through here." Not that went over well with, well, anyone. And it really wasn't as simple as that to extract himself from the Navy and familial obligations, but hey, his older brother could shoulder the expectations of the Admiral on his own.

Eddie instead struck out on his own, with a new guitar, jumping from small group to band, to band. He had yet to find a place that really interests him long enough to stick around for long, and then there was an opportunity to go and audition to fill a recently opened position with the group. It seemed perfect. Sure, he wasn't really familiar with Muse's stuff, but with some CD/iTunes research, and a piece he was familiar with that ran alongside her style, and the audition went swimmingly. He's been with the group only a few months, but it's worked out quite well for him. While he is with the same group of people, they are on the move a lot, and given what he's used to, that's just fine with him.
Pluses and Minuses
In a town without a name, in a heavy downpour
Thought he passed his own shadow, by the backstage door
Like a trip through the past, to that day in the rain
Special Skills/Abilities:

The guitar: Acoustic, electric, nylon-stringed, steel-stringed, Eddie's got a natural talent for picking up his guitar and picking out exactly the tune that's in his head.

Boxing/Swimming: Some hobbies he picked up at Annapolis, a good workout, in his opinion, is always good to keep him loose, keep away the tension.

Personal Weaknesses:

Claustrophobia – Elevators and other small, enclosed spaces are not Eddie’s friend, not in the least. There’s no particular reason for his claustrophobia, he just hates to be crushed in anywhere; it’s hard to breathe, and too long in one makes his stomach roil.

Dyslexic – While something he’s mostly overcome, because he had to, while under the oftentimes domineering force of his father, Eddie still falls into having trouble reading or writing when stressed or tired.

Insubordinate – If there’s one thing Eddie doesn’t do well, it’s follow orders. Yeah, he knows how well that ties into his history. If he’s told by an authority figure to go left, he’ll go right. Up? He’s going down.

Rootless – As a transitory military brat, Eddie’s never had an exact base/place to call home. He never learned how to live in only one place, and considers it abnormal.

Personal Strengths:
Charmer – For all his faults, and he knows he has more than a few, Eddie’s plainly charming; nothing oily slick, or in your face, but just a natural ability to put people at ease.

Musical Touch - The guitar is probably the only thing stable in his life, and he has a natural touch (and ear) for music, and drawing it out of whatever guitar he’s holding.

Moral Code - His idea of right and wrong might not be as hard lined and perfectly defined as his father’s, but Eddie does have his own set of rules for himself, and sticks to them.
Family
IAnd that one guitar, made his whole life change
Now he needs to keep on rockin', he just can't stop
Gotta keep on rockin', that boy has got to stay on top

Admiral Edmund A. Goodwin – Father – Descended from one of the members of the Golden Thirteen, Admiral Goodwin has no time for your (or Eddie’s) shenanigans.

Mary Eliza Goodwin – Mother – Originally a nurse, before she met and married Eddie’s father. She’s a supportive, and strong military wife.

Lt. Reggie Goodwin – Brother – The Admiral's pride a joy, despite their differences, he and Eddie get along just fine.

And be a juke box hero, got stars in his eyes
He's a juke box hero, got stars in his eyes
Yeah, juke box hero, stars in his eyes
With that one guitar, (stars in his eyes)
He'll come alive, come alive tonight...Woah

The Room
Yeah, he's gotta keep on rockin', just can't stop
Gotta keep on rockin', that boy has got to stay on top
Room: Arete Deck - 1115 - The Veil of Nyx

Themed for the goddess of the night, this is a dark but luxurious room, like all others on this floor. The floors are dark marble with a slight indigo hue, the walls a dark slate grey that almost looks like stone. Through out the room are many representations of the goddess, including paintings, mosaics, tapestries, and sculptures. The velvet furniture, including a couch and chez lounges, are the same color as the floor, and covered with mist-colored throws and pillows. There is a flat-screen TV with DVD player on the wall. There is a small kitchenette and mini-bar, the counter-tops done in the same marble as the floor. The curtains over the balcony doors match the throws on the furniture. For lighting, the entire ceiling is covered with fibre-optic lights that represent stars, and cast a dim glow on the room at night. There are two identical bedrooms, that match the decorating scheme of the main room perfectly. The bedrooms each have a computer desk and queen-size bed.

The bathroom is done in dark marble, on both the floors and walls, and features a jacuzzi tub, and a shower stall that doubles as a mini-steam room.
